Good food and good music, where’s the best place to go in London?

If you love food and music, and maybe a little tipple whilst dining and listening, finding a venue that offers a great dining experience along with fantastic live music can be tricky.

Here we explore some of the top-rated venues in London that offer different types of music and food.

Northern Soul Bar & Kitchen
The Northern Soul Bar and Kitchen really is just what it says. Its inspiration is based from the 1960’s mod scene when the music and dance was influenced by a particular type of Black American soul music that had a heavy beat and fast tempo. Live music is played every week as well as live vinyl DJ nights. From burgers and nachos to Cajun chicken and burned end ribs, you’ll certainly enjoy a feast whilst enjoying the throwback music.

This may not be a live music venue, but DJ’s spin the decks for a range of classic music, 24 hours a day. From finest soul to 60’s garage and Rock ‘n’Roll to indie, they really do cater for a whole range of amazing musical tastes. They have over 50 DJ’s taking turns all of whom are passionate about their love of music and have a free hand in what they play and how they entertain. The Boogaloo pub serves great food although from a limited menu which includes meat and veggie burgers, wings and chips.

Boisdale have four venues across the city; Canary Wharf, Belgravia, Bishopsgate and Mayfair. If you love live music, whisky and food you certainly won’t be disappointed. All of the venues have a unique atmosphere and you’ll find something special within each one. Canary Wharf is the largest and has over 1,000 bottles of malt whisky for you to choose from, a cigar terrace where you can enjoy your favorite smoke, the Oyster Bar and Grill where you can enjoy a range of British food including smoked salmon, shellfish and of course their legendary burgers. With a range of musical events planned across the venues you’ll certainly find something to suit your musical taste. Soul, blue’s, jazz, swing, just pick your night and book your table!

The Social

The Social was founded by a record company whose only proviso was to provide great music and better booze to anyone who came in through their doors. The club has now been running for nearly 20 years and is as successful today as it was when it first opened. Live performances come from all walks of music with many up and coming new stars performing here before they get their big break. The club is split over several floors, so you can drink craft beers and eat pies on one floor and then head down to the basement club space where you’ll be entertained with a range of music from club to hip hop karaoke. The Social has a great atmosphere, friendly staff and although it can get hot and sticky you can definitely party the night away in this hidden gem.
